My name is Erica Cavin, and I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with nine years of experience working in the mental health field. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a variety of challenges to include depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, homelessness, gaining/maintaining employment, alcohol and substance abuse, frequent hospitalizations due to suicidal ideations, and parole and probation involvement. My experiences have provided me with a wealth of knowledge, increased acceptance and understanding of the challenges that life presents, as well as an ability to adapt my approach to each individual client’s needs.

I have been on the helping side of things both personally and professionally. This has taught me kindness, strength, and resilience. Over the years, I have mastered the balance between putting myself first while helping others, and boundary setting. As your therapist, I will utilize these strengths and experiences to help you grow, put yourself first, provide insight, and apply these same boundaries to increase your independence and self-reliance.

Things to expect from me in therapy:

  • Helping my client’s feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings

  • Honesty

  • Teamwork

  • Setting realistic and achievable goals

  • Boundary setting

  • Focusing on what my client wants to get out of therapy

  • And homework, as it is essential to meeting goals not just in sessions but outside of sessions
